Honeywell Security Moves Ahead with Branding Strategy

Honeywell’s president, Ben Cornett, says that consumers strongly associate the Honeywell brand with comfort and security.
In an extension of its previously announced strategy, Honeywell Security, Syosset, N.Y., announced that all of its products will soon be officially branded as Honeywell.

This strategy will be implemented by nearly all of Honeywell Security’s manufacturing businesses, which is comprised of four units:

• Security & Custom Electronics: Security and fire controls, alarm communication services, sensors, and structured wiring and home networking products

• Video Systems: Digital video and CCTV systems and components, including equipment for specialized applications, and financial and retail transaction verification systems

• Access Systems: Access control products for applications ranging from small multi-door systems to enterprise-wide, networked systems containing thousands of entry points

• Security International: Intrusion, access control and video surveillance products and systems for global markets, outside of the Americas.

“The Honeywell brand is very powerful and consumers strongly associate it with comfort and security. Our dealers have told us that they could benefit from the strength of our product line combined with the tremendous recognition of the Honeywell brand,” says Ben Cornett, president of Honeywell Security. “The products themselves won’t change, other than that they’ll be branded as Honeywell. I’m convinced that the more we use the Honeywell brand, the more powerful it will ultimately be, especially in the security industry.”
