HSM Purchases Accounts of Sylvesters Security

HSM (Honeywell Security Monitoring), Jupiter, Fla., has purchased the commercial and residential alarm accounts of Sylvester’s Security Alarms Inc., Santa Maria, Calif. The sale includes commercial and residential accounts within California’s central coast.

A local office will be retained along with many employees of Sylvester’s, which has been in business since 1960, HSM announced. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

“Sylvester’s is a great company, and we are thrilled to have acquired an industry leader with a great track record and longevity in business,” declared Timothy Whall, president and COO of HSM. “The Sylvester’s acquisition opens a new market for HSM while helping us foster our continued growth in national accounts.”

Added Don Sylvester, president of Sylvester’s Security Alarms, “After entertaining numerous offers, I have selected HSM to take Sylvester’s forward. I believe that Jim Covert can take my company to the next level and offer my employees greater career opportunities than the other companies I spoke with.”

HSM has 49 offices serving more than 80 of the country’s largest metropolitan markets. HSM designs, installs and services security systems for more than 175,000 commercial and residential customers.
