HSM Electronic Protection Services Inc., Lisle, Ill., announced the purchase of the security alarm operations of Central Alarm Systems Inc., Dallas. The sale includes commercial and residential accounts being serviced in the east Texas and Dallas market areas. Terms of the sale were not disclosed,

“The Central Alarm Systems acquisition allows us to increase our presence in east Texas and Dallas, which we see as a strong growth opportunity for our company. In addition, this acquisition provides expanded service capabilities for our national account customers,” said Tim Whall, president and chief operating officer of HSM.

“When I decided to retire from the alarm service and security systems business, I had three important goals,” said Jim Smith, president of Central Alarm Systems Inc. “They included ensuring that my subscribers would have ongoing, high-quality service, continued employment for my staff, and finding a buyer for my company with undisputed honesty and integrity.

“I was fortunate to find an organization that met all of these goals – HSM Electronic Protection Services. I have no doubt they will provide my customers with even greater resources for their future alarm and security needs.”

In other news, Aaron R. Czapiga, of HSM Electronic Protection Services, New England district, was named “2006 Professional Alarm Technician of the Year” by the Connecticut Alarm & Systems Integrators Association (CASIA). Czapiga was honored at the CASIA annual membership expo in New Haven, Conn.

According to CASIA representative Pat Shea Remes, Czapiga, a 12-year industry veteran, received the annual award in recognition of his exceptional technical skills, superior work ethic and outstanding leadership qualities.
