Milestone Systems Inc., Beaverton, Ore., a provider of open platform IP video surveillance software, signed a validation and trademark license agreement with Motorola Inc. Networks and Enterprise Business Group, a provider of wireless and broadband communications and mission critical solutions designed to meet the needs of public safety, government and enterprise customers. The agreement was the result of a software evaluation of Milestone’s product XProtect Enterprise on the Motomesh network, Motorola’s multi-radio broadband solution. Motorola has validated the Milestone software as compatible for use on Motomesh networks.

The agreement allows both companies to advertise and support these products as compatible and validated for interoperation and joint-marketing opportunities.

The Motomesh-ready solutions offer wireless access to mission-critical data anytime, anywhere to first responders such as police, ambulance, fire or military personnel. The mobile mesh network carries wireless broadband data, including real-time, high-resolution, full-screen video that can be transmitted from surveillance cameras located throughout the city, managed by the Milestone XProtect IP video management software.

In other Milestone Systems news, the company established a subsidiary called Milestone Systems UK Ltd., to further strengthen its success in the UK and to provide local support to partners and customers. Glenn Fletcher joined the location as sales manager UK.
The company also announced a Singapore office sales subsidiary. Milestone had been building up sales in the area through authorized partners in a dozen Asian countries, and will be supporting this channel more comprehensively with a regional office.

The director of Milestone Systems Pte Ltd. in Singapore is Lo Yew Seng and Sally Tan is the sales manager. The first activities are already planned: a series of professional training sessions in Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan to certify partners in the latest features of Milestone’s top-of-the-line solution, XProtect Enterprise.
