December 1, 2005
VTI Security, Minneapolis, Minn., has moved to a larger corporate headquarters to accommodate the company’s growth. The new offices are located at 401 W. Travelers Trail, Burnsville, Minn. The 21,000-square-foot facility, twice the size of VTI’s previous headquarters, will provide production and system staging areas and expanded testing, quality control, custom engineering and design areas.

SecurityNet member The Protection Bureau, Exton, Pa, appointed Andrew Pearson as fire, life, safety and security consultant. Pearson will be responsible for working with building owners and managers, commercial property owners and electrical contractors to provide them with a resource for their fire and security needs.

North American Video, Brick, N.J., has two new facilities under construction in Las Vegas and Washington state. The facilities will include demonstration showrooms, technical support services, sales engineering personnel, product preparation and warehousing facilities. The Washington facility, located at 19220 62nd Avenue NE, Unit #1, Arlington, Wash., will serve as the northwestern regional office. The Las Vegas facility is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2006. It will be located at 3070 East Post Road, Las Vegas, Nev.

Sonitrol Corp., Berywn, Pa., announced that Alex Gellman, chief operating officer (COO), has been promoted to the additional position of president, where he will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the company. Gellman joined Sonitrol as senior vice president and COO in March 2004.

American Response Center held its 3rd annual dealer meeting in September in Cleveland. The all-day session included a continental breakfast, luncheon and exhibition, various speakers and an end-of-day social gathering. The speakers included John Tedesco of Guardian Mobile Monitoring (GPS session); Alex Elliot of VoIPAlarm.com (VoIP and Internet monitoring); Mark Townshend of OzVision (Video Monitoring session); David Watkins of GE Security (Networx IP monitoring); Pat Corte of Napco Security (NetLink Internet monitoring); and Gary Ring of Bosch Security (UL Internet monitoring).

AES-IntelliNet’s (Peabody, Mass.) wireless radio network survived Hurricanes Katrina and Wilma and provided consistent alarm communications. Wireless radio security systems with extensive battery back-up provided hundreds of customers with seamless and continuous coverage. “My AES-IntelliNet customers received constant service, without any interruption throughout the storm,” said Don Richter, president of Aressco Services Inc, Miami, Fla. The AES-IntelliNet system is a wireless mesh, long-range radio system. The technology is capable of re-routing alarm signals through multiple paths to ensure that all signals are communicated to the central station. The system relies on a series of low-profile, robust repeaters that are installed throughout the service area; if one repeater is down, the signal automatically finds the next available repeater.

Software developer Reliable Group, Bellmore, N.Y., announced on November 1 the price change of its industry-specific AlarmKey Standard software. The Reliable Group has added inspection tracking and document imaging to its AlarmKey Standard package due to high demand for more automation. The price of AlarmKey is now at $2,995 and $695 per each additional concurrent user license. For more information, visit www.alarmkey.com.
