Innovation To Drive Industry Forward

April 22, 2010

Bloomfield, Conn.-based Visonic Ltd., a developer and manufacturer of home security and safety systems and components, has embarked on a campaign to share its commitment of almost four decades to innovation with the rest of the security industry. Its appreciation for the innovative and its renewed relevance in the current market was evidenced at last month’s ISC West show in Las Vegas, Nev., where the company gave equal billing to presenting new ways of thinking to stay competitive during tough economic times as well as providing new products.

More than 60 guests took part in Visonic’s “Executive Summit on Innovation” featuring global business strategist and bestselling author Rowan Gibson, held at The Wynn Las Vegas during the show. Gibson is an expert on radical innovation and, for two decades, has been teaching international organizations how to seize new growth opportunities and create new markets by recalibrating their whole organizational system around the paradigm of innovation. His recent book, Innovation to the Core, has been published in more than 20 languages. Gibson presented what he terms the Four Lenses of Innovation: Challenging Orthodoxies, Harnessing Trends, Leveraging Resources in New Ways, and Addressing Unmet Customer Needs.

Steven Champeau, president and CEO of Trans American Security Services, took away much from the seminar.

“Perhaps the most poignant statement of all — relative to the criticality of innovation in business today — was in Rowan’s closing comments: ‘There is no plan B,‘” Champeau said. “Rowan’s insights highlight the need to make innovation a systemic part of your enterprise and it doesn’t sugarcoat the daunting nature of the task at hand.”

Visonic’s product releases at ISC also caught much attention and earned high innovation marks from attendees. The Tower series of commercial detectors showcased at ISC, as did the PowerMaxExpress Surveillance QuickFit Kit, an IP offering designed especially for system integrators and central monitoring stations. The PowerMaxExpress Surveillance QuickFit sets new standards for quick installation and ease-of-use by delivering a wireless, pre-enrolled, broadband-based security and surveillance system that requires no programming, Visonic said in a press release.
