The R-300 microwave perimeter protection detector from STR International is designed to learn and adjust to changes in weather and terrain height. According to the manufacturer, many competitive systems cannot differentiate between significant snowfall and an intruder, leading to false alarms. The R-300 can protect a zone with a length of up to 1,000 ft. and can detect a walking or crawling human at 1 to 30 ft. per second. The system can be tested remotely, is durable and is built to withstand temperatures of minus 58 to 149 deg. F and up to 100 percent relative humidity with a 77-deg. F air temperature.
