At its annual meeting held yesterday, the Security Industry Association (SIA), honored a number of individuals and companies for their contributions and commitment to the association and the industry as a whole.
Scott Schafer, executive vice president of Arecont Vision, received the Chairman’s Award for his service to and promotion of SIA among the industry.
Richard Brent, CEO of Louroe Electronics, was presented with the Committee Chairman of the Year Award. Faced with the difficult task of narrowing down the field for the Sandra Jones Volunteer of the Year Award, SIA recognized not one, but four individuals: Frank De Fina, executive vice president, SightLogix; Frank Gasztonyi, chief technology officer of Mercury Security; Jim Chambley, owner of Risk Response Team; and Rodger Schmidt, product trainer for ASSA ABLOY Group.
SIA also recognized a number of companies for reaching significant milestones in the length of their SIA membership. Twenty-five-year SIA member Sandra Jones and Company, along with 30-year members ISC Events and SDM and Security magazines were singled out for special recognition and awards.
