The Security Industry Association (SIA) has selected six young professionals employed at SIA member companies to receive the 2018 SIA RISE Scholarship, an initiative through SIA’s RISE networking group for young security professionals.

The RISE Scholarship program awards $3,000 to each honoree for use in expanding their knowledge in human resources, information technology, marketing/sales, project management, security engineering and/or risk management. The funds can be used toward completing professional development courses, SIA program offerings and/or other academic or education programs.

“SIA is proud to promote the advancement of young professionals in the security industry through the RISE Scholarship,” said SIA CEO Don Erickson. “I am impressed by the accomplishments and ambitions of this year’s honorees and look forward to supporting their career development and many successes to come.”

The six winners for the 2018 SIA RISE Scholarship are Charlotte Alberta of Allegion, Kelsey Carnell of Axis Communications, Michael Jones of Brivo Systems, Antoinette King of Axis Communications, Erin Mann of Allegion and Bryan Tulshi of Intelligent Security Systems.

In addition to awarding the RISE Scholarship, SIA RISE’s program, which fosters the careers of young professionals in the security industry, offers in-person networking events held during trade shows and in major cities across the country, career growth webinars on topics of interest and career tracks at ISC West and East each year. RISE is open to all young security professionals employed at SIA member companies who are under 40 and/or have been in the security for less than two years. To learn more, click here.
