Vidikron has expanded the availability of the VDP-80 digital video controller/processor so that it is bundled with Vidikron projectors, plasma screens and LCDs or as an individual component. The VDP-80 uses Imagix video processing, delivering artifact-free scaling, aspect ratio control and broad input flexibility. It originally was offered exclusively with the Model 80 D-ILA projector. It is designed to improve picture quality and increase ease of installation. It can be rack mounted with other equipment, minimizing the number of cable connections to the display.
