Clear24 camera

SightLogix, a supplier of outdoor area and perimeter security video systems, has introduced what it calls a new benchmark in thermal video imaging — Clear24™. The new camera uses powerful image processing to provide the most detailed thermal image possible, 24 hours a day, including in conditions of rain, snow, fog, wind, or humidity, according to SightLogix. Clear24 delivers another critical aspect of outdoor video surveillance — the need for a value-priced thermal camera that provides clear images both night and day.

Thermal imagery has been known for nighttime applications under low or zero lighting conditions. However, during the day, thermal cameras often suffer from degraded performance due to “whiteout” that occurs when targets are close to the same temperature as the background scene. Thermal images are often blurry, displaying items as indiscernible shapes. Clear24 adapts to conditions to provide discriminating detail throughout the field of view, both at night and during the day.

SightLogix invites you to visit www.sightlogix.com/clear24thermal to see “an example of Clear24’s crisp thermal images compared to market-leading thermal cameras,” the company said.

“Our goal as an integrator is to exceed our customers’ security expectations,” said Mark Mills, president of Communication Concepts, a Florida-based systems integrator. “After testing the Clear24 at real-world customer sites, we have found that the SightLogix camera produces excellent thermal images both night and day, and under the most challenging thermal conditions.”

Clear24 is an all-in-one, outdoor thermal camera that includes an imager complete with lens optics, on-board video processing and image-contrast technology. It is ruggedized for outdoor environments inside a NEMA 4X (IP66 compliant) nitrogen-purged housing. Multiple lens field-of-view options are available from 48 degrees to 4.6 degrees to support various distance ranges from 670 ft. to 6,800 ft.

“SightLogix is raising the bar for reliable outdoor thermal video with a cost-effective thermal camera that provides clear images at all times,” said John Romanowich, president and CEO, SightLogix. “Clear24 leverages SightLogix’ heritage of video processing to provide sharp images for better security.”

Other Clear24 camera features include flexible and secure 10/100 Ethernet communications with support for broadband, wireless (802.11a), cellular, and satellite. The camera’s open-system design is pre-integrated with third-party video management or physical security information management (PSIM) system environments.
