Security Equipment Inc. (SEi), a full-service security firm founded in 1969 in Omaha, Neb., recently completed a move to their new corporate headquarters at 2238 South 156 Circle in Omaha, Nebraska.
After more than 35 years in their previous Omaha location (13505 C Street), SEi, No. 44 on the SDM 100 list and No. 39 on the SDM Top Systems Integrator list, outgrew its space and needed to upgrade facilities.
In addition to office space for about 65 employees as well as warehouse space, the new office includes a state-of-the-art customer care center. SEi offers in-house monitoring to its growing customer base of more than 16,000 accounts in 43 states. The customer care center has seating for 24 representatives whose duties range from responding to life safety alarm signals, custom programming, and customer service and account management.
SEi President Mike Meridith said, “We were outgrowing our old facility, and in order to keep up with the many advancements in technology in the security industry, it was a necessity for us to build this new facility to offer our customers the service they deserve.”
As security specialists, SEi started out providing life protection against fire and smoke. Later they expanded into the fields of residential and commercial security, UL-approved central station monitoring and other essential security activities. Providing life safety remained the focus of the business.
