ASSA ABLOY and Gallagher, a New Zealand-based company that provides premium integrated security solutions to a wide range of customers globally, announced the integration of Gallagher’s Command Centre with ASSA ABLOY’S range of Aperio™ wireless locks.

HID Global and Sony Corporation announced a jointly developed contactless smart card reader platform that embeds secure access control capabilities and Near Field Communication (NFC) functionality into laptops and other mobile devices.

HID Global, Irvine, Calif., a provider of solutions for the delivery of secure identity, announced that the company and its parent, ASSA ABLOY, Stockholm, Sweden, have been notified by the United States Patent Office that their patent, US 2008/0163361, titled “Method and Apparatus for Making a Decision on a Card,” has been allowed and will issue shortly. This invention covers the use of portable credentials in a secure access network, in which the access decision can be made within a portable credential (such as the secure element of a mobile device) using data and algorithms stored within the credential.

ASSA ABLOY and MAXXESS Systems announced the integration of MAXXESS Systems with ASSA ABLOY’S range of Aperio™ wireless locks in the United States. Aperio will integrate with MAXXESS’s eAXxess™ and Efusion Event Management Software packages.
