Mesh Freedom from Viscount Systems Inc. is the IT platform that uses IP card reader switches that eliminate the purchase of access control panels. Turn any card reader into an IP device by connecting it to a Freedom IP POE switch with built-in I/O and every card usage is processed on a redundant server either in your building or anywhere in the world.
The software component of MESH Freedom is the MESH web browser security operating platform. Unlike control panels, the user database and the door control software is written in IT language located on a server(s), thereby future-proofing systems from the traditional issue of proprietary hardware version obsolescence and improving scalability by eliminating the need for additional hardware every time a reader is added to a system.
Viscount provides an array of bridges to accommodate a variety of field requirements. Each IP bridge includes specialized card access components including reader inputs and ports to manage inputs and door outputs. When a card is presented at a reader, the reader sends a message to the bridge that encrypts the message. The message is sent through the network to a local or remote server for validation and a message is then sent to the bridge to enable door control.
