Property crime rates decreased by 6.3 percent last year, marking the 16th consecutive year of declining numbers, according to the FBI’s 2018 Uniform Crime Report.
The FBI recently released its annual crime report for 2017, and property crimes were 3 percent fewer than they were in 2016, marking the 15th consecutive year the collective estimates for these offenses declined.
A burglary occurred every 16.4 seconds in the United States in 2013. This and more information about property crime was released last week by The Federal Bureau of Investigation in Crime in the United States, 2013. The report shows that the estimated number of property crimes decreased 4.1 percent.
