The findings of Johnson Controls' annual Energy Efficiency Indicator survey finds that more than half of organizations plan to increase investment in energy efficiency, renewable energy and smart building technology next year, comparable with investment trends after the 2010 recession.
Berk-Tek, a Nexans Company and leading manufacturer of network infrastructure solutions, has joined forces with Cree Lighting and Transition Networks to provide a complete end-to-end solution for the smart building’s utility LAN (uLAN).
Schneider Electric, a leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, is hosting more than 1,200 customers, partners, suppliers and influencers at its latest Innovation Summit, today and tomorrow, Nov. 13-14 in Atlanta.
A widely held perception is that smart buildings are cost-effective only for large commercial properties of over 100,000 square feet. But through a recent project the Metropolitan Area Advisory Committee (MAAC) a San Diego County non-profit that supplies life-changing services to individuals and families found a quick and easy way to save energy and money at its San Marcos Head Start Center. The non-profit worked with CANDI, an Internet of Things (IoT) technology company that connects devices and data to the services that create smart buildings, to retrofit the 20,000 square-foot day care center into an affordable “green” building. The facilities team at the San Marcos Head Start Center now has the information needed to optimize energy performance, remotely diagnose and control the building’s HVAC systems, and reduce the frequency of maintenance visits.
As an ultimate expression of art-meets-architecture along the recently redeveloped High Line in New York City, the world-renowned Zaha Hadid designed condominium building at 520 West 28th Street is welcoming its first occupants with a fully integrated security and communications network exclusively designed and installed by ESCC.
CANDI announced its collaboration with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and the launch of a new solution that simplifies the connection of smart building devices and data to apps. Through the integration of Google Pub/Sub and CANDI’s PowerTools, IoT developers and service providers can more easily connect to edge data, link directly into Google’s Cloud Platform toolset, and drive business value across the IoT ecosystem. The solution is designed with out-of-the-box support for smart buildings, which includes reference designs and sensor kits for energy, HVAC, and equipment management using Intel BMP gateways.
