Allied Universal and its international business, G4S, have reach an agreement with Shell to accelerate the transition to sustainable solutions for customers and employees through a global collaboration in sustainability and security.

The agreement to collaborate enhances the companies’ long-standing business relationship and has already delivered results in the mobility sector, according to an announcement. For example, Shell’s Mobility and Fleet Solutions provides G4S in the United Kingdom with a countrywide public charging infrastructure for its electric vehicle fleet and employees.

In Europe, starting with the Netherlands, Shell will support G4S to implement the Accelerate to Zero program, a tailored roadmap for decarbonizing G4S’ mobility operations, and a unique Shell offering for businesses that want to accelerate their fleet-decarbonizing efforts at scale.

“Through this collaboration with Shell, a key global customer, we are pursuing a shared ambition to lower the carbon footprint of our business and deliver our respective climate and environmental goals,” said Steve Jones, global chairman and CEO of Allied Universal. “We will together identify and implement opportunities which contribute to both parties’ decarbonization targets while securing Shell assets in the most innovative and sustainable way possible.”

The announcement stated the companies will explore solutions for:

  • Renewable power: Decarbonization of scope 2 emissions through the supply of renewable power.
  • Energy solutions: Decarbonization through use of smart energy efficiency and energy management solutions and services.
  • Decarbonizing mobility operations through supply of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure for use at G4S offices, sites and employee homes, as well as access to one of the world’s largest public EV charging networks, drawing on the benefits of Shell’s global scale and leadership in EV charging. Where needed, Shell will also support Allied Universal and G4S in transitioning its global vehicle fleet in a sustainable and cost-effective way.
  • Security solutions: Provide innovation in security through a combination of security expertise, technology and data analytics, to manage risks and enhance value in support of Shell’s rigorous approach to the safety and security of its global workforce and its operations.

“We are committed to helping our customers find the right solutions for their business and pleased to help G4S accelerate decarbonization of their fleet and operations,” said István Kapitány, Shell’s global executive vice president, mobility. “Our Accelerate to Zero program is a great example of how we can help customers implement low-carbon solutions quickly, efficiently and profitably, drawing on our integrated products, services and expertise.”
