ASSA ABLOY has acquired Level Lock, a technology solutions business based in Redwood City, Calif.
Level Lock is a manufacturer of innovative smart locks that blend advanced technology with discreet, minimalist designs. Their locks integrate seamlessly into residential doors, providing keyless entry, remote access, and enhanced security features, all while maintaining the aesthetic of a traditional lock.
The acquisition will leave Level Lock as a separate subsidiary. The standalone entity will take on the new name Ambient Property Technologies, which will focus on delivering the next-generation platform to multifamily customers.
“The acquisition of Level Lock complements ASSA ABLOY’s technology portfolio and strengthens our digital offering across multiple businesses in the Americas division,” says Lucas Boselli, executive vice president of ASSA ABLOY and head of the Americas division. “Their innovative platform provides an easy transition from mechanical locking to digital access solutions with minimal effort.”
Level Lock was founded in 2016 by John Martin and Ken Goto and has approximately 70 employees. Sales for 2023 amounted to approximately $16 million. The acquisition will be dilutive to EPS from the start, according to an announcement.
