PSG Appoints Director of Strategic Security Programs

Prometheus Security Group (PSG) announced the appointment of Thomas Segars as director of strategic security programs.
In this role, Segars will lead the company’s strategic initiatives and business development efforts across the federal government landscape, with a focus on mission critical infrastructure, national security programs, and advanced edge security deployment. He’ll also focus on expanding adoption of Prometheus’ Digital Encrypted Security Interface (DESI) and Universal Field Panel (UFP) in federal and defense settings, ensuring physical infrastructure is protected with Zero Trust principles and authenticated data from the edge.
Segars brings over three decades of experience in physical security, nuclear security, anti-terrorism, and federal law enforcement. A retired United States Air Force Colonel, Segars most recently served as the Director of Intelligence, Strategic Plans and Requirements for the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, where he oversaw planning and threat mitigation strategies across global Air Force installations. Segars holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Georgia, a master’s in human resources development from Webster University, and a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. A graduate of the FBI National Academy (Session 263), he holds a Department of Defense Counter-Insider Threat Professional certification.
“We’re honored to welcome Colonel Segars to the team,” said Rick Gross, founder and CEO, Prometheus Security Group. “His operational leadership, extensive understanding of government security requirements and experience, coupled with his commitment to national defense make him the ideal leader to advance our mission of securing the nation’s most critical assets from the edge to the enterprise.”
Segars says, “I’m thrilled to join PSG in this critical role, as I've long respected PSG’s outstanding contributions to the Air Force, DOD and DOE enterprises. PSG’s leadership is unmatched, their technology is unparalled — spanning a 40-year history of leading the modernization of the defense industrial base and critical infrastructure with multiple first and only unmatched capabilities. The most recent is their first and only Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) for physical security edge devices — they continue to set the standard.”
