AMAG Technology, Torrance, Calif., a developer of advanced-technology security management systems, has aligned its product development programs to ensure full compliance with the new government guidelines for smart cards.

The U.S. government’s Physical Access Interagency Interoperability Working Group (PAIIWG) released version 2.2 of its technical implementation guidance for the deployment of smart-card-enabled physical access control systems (PACS) within all federal facilities. The standards expand on the PACs-related directives of the previously released version.

In other AMAG news, Walter Coady has been named mid-Atlantic regional sales manager for the company. In the newly created position, Coady oversees the company’s business development and customer service operations in that region.
