The merger of Crystal Alarm, Winchester, Mass., and American Alarm and Communications Inc., founded in Winchester and based in Arlington, Mass., is designed to combine the strengths of the two security companies, whose owners devote personal attention to customer service.

Michael Surabian, president and owner of Crystal Alarm, is now a full-time member of the sales and customer service team at American Alarm, reported William McLaughlin, president of American Alarm.

Surabian is planning to spend more time with customers designing systems and upgrades using exciting new security technologies.

“I’m proud to join forces with a reputable company that’s family owned and operated as opposed to a larger, non-personalized conglomerate,” Surabian emphasized.

“I know the owners of American Alarm (Wells Sampson and Lou Sampson) well, having grown up with them,” Surabian revealed. “We share similar values and goals. Since both Crystal and American Alarm were founded in Winchester and have a large clientele in the area, I am confident that my customers will receive the best possible care.”

With more than 16,000 residential and commercial customers throughout central New England, American Alarm specializes in integrated systems for security, fire warning, card access control and video surveillance. The company was founded in 1972 by Richard Sampson, chairman. n
