An upgrade to Home Automation Inc.’s Web-Link is available for current owners over the Internet. New features on Web-Link II allow it to run as a Windows service whenever the computer is on. A control canel applet configures properties. Web-Link II and HAI Home Control for Windows Media Center are supported on the same computer. RSS support is on the Web-Link II home page, allowing the user to easily add custom data such as weather forecasts, sports scores, news and personal blogs. Web-Link II has a touchscreen user interface and offers new skins as well as improved support for sending and logging e-mails. Setup now addresses Windows Firewall, directory security and SP2 security permissions issues.
