Axis Communications introduced easy-to-install indoor and outdoor professional pan/tilt/zoom dome surveillance cameras that allow users on-site or at a remote location to pan 360 deg. over a wide area and see critical detail with 18x optical zoom. The competitively priced AXIS P5522/-E PTZ Dome Network Cameras are suitable for stores, banks, museums, warehouses, parking lots, construction sites and business campuses. AXIS P5522 and the outdoor-ready AXIS P5522-E network cameras support video resolutions up to D1 (720 x 480 in 60 Hz, 720 x 576 in 50 Hz) and offer day/night functionality with 128x wide dynamic range for improved image quality in both light and dark conditions. They can simultaneously send multiple video streams in H.264 and/or Motion JPEG, which can be configured at different frame rates or resolution. Both indoor and outdoor models are powered using High Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3at), which means only one cable is required for power, video and PTZ controls. A High PoE midspan is supplied with the cameras. AXIS P5522/-E network cameras also offer Axis’ unique Advanced Gatekeeper functionality, which enables the camera to automatically move and zoom in to a preset position to capture, for instance, a vehicle license plate or a person’s face when motion is detected in a pre-defined area. AXIS P5522/-E cameras have a built-in SD/SDHC memory card slot that enables recordings to be stored locally. The cameras are supported by AXIS Camera Station video management software, as well as the industry’s largest base of application software through Axis’ Application Development Partner program, the company said.
