HID Eases FIPS 201 Compliance for PACS

HID Global, Booth 11051– HID Global has unveiled an integrated product suite that enables the U.S. federal government, government contractors and other facilities to comply with federal identity mandates without having to replace their existing physical access control system (PACS).

The pivCLASS Government Solutions portfolio works together with existing PACS and external trust authorities to deliver functionality specified by Federal Information Processing Standards Publication 201 (FIPS 201). With pivCLASS, customers can achieve compliance for their PACS simply by deploying new pivCLASS readers and installing pivCLASS authentication modules between the readers and existing PACS panel.

Components in the portfolio include readers, authentication modules and validation servers.
