HAI by Leviton, Melville, N.Y., announced the Hi-Fi 2 Four Zone, Four Source (4x4) Distributed Audio System. The new version is a more compact and inexpensive extension of the company’s revolutionary Hi-Fi 2 system, ideal for controlling, sharing and listening to audio systems in buildings with multiple units, such as townhomes, luxury hotel suites, condominiums and small office buildings. The system can be controlled via the included remote control or directly by the free Android or iPhone application.
The new Hi-Fi 2 4x4 provides an affordable distributed audio option with 20 watts per channel that fits directly into a Leviton Structured Media Center wiring enclosure at half-width. As with the entire Hi-Fi 2 line, the new 4x4 model allows users to listen to and share music sources with any room that has speakers connected to the device. Both local and remote source inputs are standard features, with optional wireless Bluetooth connectivity. The Remote Input Module (RIM) features a routed IR emitter jack for remotely controlling existing source equipment from any room that has a volume source control.
“HAI by Leviton’s Hi-Fi 2 is already the most compact yet powerful system on the market, so the addition of a four zone, four source version ensures that this product can be even more affordable for any size installation,” said Jay McLellan, president of HAI by Leviton. “This development is yet another example of HAI by Leviton providing contractors and installers with solutions that are best suited for their specific needs.”
The Hi-Fi 2 4x4 unit uses the same volume source control, RIM and optional Bluetooth RIM as the larger Hi-Fi 2 8x8. The new version comes complete with the Hi-Fi 2 4x4 amplifier, four volume source controls, two remote input modules, a remote control and a power supply, all packaged in an environmentally friendly carton made of 100 percent recycled materials. Color change kits are also available separately for the wall-mounted volume source control and remote input modules.
