AFA Protective Receives Contract to Provide Fire Alarm System Maintenance & Repair Services to Federal Agencies

March 28, 2014

AFA Protective Systems Inc. (AFA), a fire and safety systems provider ranked on the SDM 100 as the 23rd largest security company by recurring monthly revenue, announced the award of its General Services Administration (GSA) Facilities Maintenance and Management Schedule 03FAC Contract. AFA’s GSA Contract, number GS-21F-021BA, can be used by all federal agencies to purchase the company’s fire alarm system inspection and maintenance services at discounted rates.

The GSA Schedule Contract is an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity, government-wide contract vehicle that serves to streamline the federal procurement process. GSA Schedule Contracts are pre-competed and FAR compliant, saving federal buyers time and administrative costs, AFA described.

“AFA is the country’s oldest provider of fire and safety solutions with a 140-year reputation history of excellence. Over the past few years, we have utilized our expertise in the industry to increase our share of the government space,” said Jared Kleinman, AFA government liaison. “Our GSA Schedule Contract Award provides us with new opportunities and a competitive advantage in the government market and marks a significant milestone in our federal sales strategy.”

For many years the company has been building its government business and has worked with agencies including the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Coast Guard, National Park Service, the Department of Veteran Affairs, and the Department of Defense. AFA installs, maintains and inspects government facilities throughout the eastern United States from its 14 branch locations.

AFA noted in a prepared news release that it is currently one of just 25 companies approved to offer services under the Fire Alarm System Preventative Maintenance and Repair Services Special Item Number (SIN). AFA’s GSA Schedule Contract is valid through November 24, 2018 and has three five-year extension options, according to the company. Federal buyers can utilize AFA’s GSA Schedule Contract to secure its trusted fire alarm maintenance services at pre-negotiated pricing, terms and conditions.
