Following the grand opening ceremony, attendees quickly flooded the show floor.

Sponsored by Allegion for the fifth consecutive year, the ceremony included the Clark High School honor squad, presentation of the colors by Las Vegas American Legion Post 76 and a who’s who of security gathered together for one purpose: to kick off what is the industry’s most important gathering.

After leaders from the various security associations were introduced, it was time for the countdown, led by ISC Events Senior Vice President Ed Several. The traditional confetti canons once again served notice that ISC West 2015 was open for business. Gone were the ropes that held back the dense crowd and like water on a dry sponge, attendees quickly saturated the show floor. A steady stream of attendees that stretched from the main lobby well toward the casino floor of the Venetian continued flowing in for quite a while. Aisles filled quickly as everyone sought out the products and technologies they’re most interested in, connect with friends and colleagues and absorb everything ISC West has to offer. And with more than 1,000 exhibitors again this year, the show definitely offers a lot.

Based on the foot traffic and general buzz that filled the exhibit hall right up until it closed at 5 p.m. (and continued out into the lobby and beyond), today and tomorrow should be just as busy as the thousands of attendees continue to navigate the show floor to connect with product experts, view demonstrations of products and technologies, take advantage of the learning opportunities of the SIA Education@ISC program, and seize on the plentiful networking opportunities that only ISC West can provide.

If you missed today’s grand opening, have no fear. Following on the success of last year’s format, a second ceremony, also sponsored by Allegion, is set for 9:45 a.m. today.
