ProTech Adds Montreal-Based VideoWave Networks
ProTech announced the addition of VideoWave Networks to its family of perimeter security system companies. VideoWave is a developer of surveillance software based on advanced video analytics that detect and track objects in outdoor environments.
VideoWave joins ProTech along with France-based Sorhea Technology and TIL Technologies, all of whom are owned by parent company Groupe ST of France.
Groupe ST Chairman Eric Thord said the acquisition supports ProTech’s overarching strategy in North
America to provide complete perimeter security solutions that protect critical infrastructure sites and assets.
“Since 2004, VideoWave has been designing and bringing to market video analytic-based intelligent tools that track moving objects detected by PTZ cameras,” Thord said. “VideoWave’s technology is a complement to the rest of the family in creating a full end-to-end security solution.”
Through this acquisition, Eric Thord said U.S.-based ProTech is well positioned in the North American perimeter surveillance market in offering a full system solution — from the fence line to the building exterior — with innovative, “cutting edge” products that better serve customer needs and market demands.
