James Joseph Durkin, 65, of Lancaster, PA died on April 19, 2018. Durkin was the co-owner and CEO of Choice Security Services LLC.
He was commissioned to the U.S. Army Signal Corps upon graduation from Gannon College in 1974 and was honorably discharged after proudly achieving the rank of Captain.

It is with great sadness that Choice Security announces the unexpected passing of our founder and chief executive officer, James J. Durkin. To all who knew Jim, he was an exceptional person, a community leader, and a great friend. Jim leaves behind a wonderful family, wife Mary Rose, son Jimmy, and daughter Caihlin. He was dependable, conscientious, and would always go the extra mile to help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed.
Co-founder Ray Bear will assume the duties of chief executive officer. Ray has been with Choice Security since its inception and has been in the alarm industry for over 40 years with vast experience in all facets of the business. All the employees at Choice Security are committed to continuing the outstanding customer service that Choice customers have come to expect, and are equally committed to following through on the legacy that Jim began when he founded Choice Security in 2001.
