Security Industry Mourns the Loss of Matthew Krebs

By SDM Editors
Matthew Krebbs
June 7, 2022

Security industry veteran Matthew Krebs, a sales and business development executive, died peacefully on June 6 with his wife by his side.

Krebs served as vice president of business development, North America at Avigilon. Prior to joining Avigilon in 2014, he worked at other leading firms developing successful business programs for organizations in the security, IoT, business development, SaaS and technology space.

His former positions included security sales director, Americas, Xtralis; business development manager, AVHS, Axis Communications; executive vice president, SureView Systems; and regional director systems sales and engineering for ADT Fire & Security.

The Electronic Security Association (ESA) provided SDM the following remembrance:

Matt was an incredible man that is loved by so many. He was an amazing, selfless, colleague and friend to hundreds in the security industry. Matt lit up every room he walked into, and was the consummate gentleman, kind, caring, thoughtful, witty, intelligent, charming, and most importantly he shared his heart of gold with so numerous people.

He was very private about his valiant battles with cancer and never wanted to burden anyone. Throughout his time with SureView Systems, Axis Communications, and most recently Avigilon, Matt was a tremendous supporter of ESA, ESX, and many other associations in our industry over the last 15 years. Matt helped countless people throughout his life and career in so many ways both personally and professionally. He has undoubtedly left a lasting impression on the lives of everyone he knew and the security industry as a whole. He is irreplaceable and will be greatly missed.

Please pray for his family as they navigate the unthinkable loss of such an incredible husband, dad, brother, and son. Services have not been made yet, but we will provide that information as soon as we receive it.
