SIA Donates to Hurricane Relief Efforts, Urges Others to Join

SIA released the following statement regarding the Hurricane Harvey disaster:

Dear SIA Members,
 
Like all of you, we have watched with heartbreak the destruction and havoc caused by Hurricane Harvey and the subsequent flooding in Texas and Louisiana. Our industry is ultimately focused on the safety and security of fellow citizens, and as such, the Security Industry Association (SIA) wishes to convey its support for all those impacted by this devastating storm.
 
To put our thoughts into action, SIA is donating $5,000 to the American Red Cross to be used for recovery efforts in Houston and elsewhere. We encourage all our members to make similar donations in support of the needs of those affected by Hurricane Harvey. If you choose to support the American Red Cross, you can easily make a donation of $10 by texting HARVEY to 90999, or contribute another amount by visiting its website at www.redcross.org/donate/hurricane-harvey.
 
We also ask SIA member companies to share with us how you are assisting in the Hurricane Harvey recovery, whether by donations, volunteer efforts or any effort you have made. We will share your initiatives via the SIA blog with other members, and in doing so, we hope that we encourage the industry to make achievements to improve the lives of those affected.
