The Security Industry Association (SIA) has named Antoinette King as the 2022 recipient of the SIA Chair’s Award, an award presented annually and selected by SIA’s Board of Directors chair recognizing SIA members’ diligent efforts in furthering the association’s mission and commitment to its future. SIA will present King with the award at The Advance, SIA’s annual membership meeting, which will be held March 22 during ISC West.

Antoinette King, founder of Credo Cyber Consulting, LLC, has 21 years of experience in the security industry. She has held roles within the industry that include engineered systems specialist, operations manager, regional sales manager and key account manager in both integration and manufacturing companies. King founded Credo Cyber Consulting in 2020 with the goal of providing clients a holistic perspective on security, bridging the gap between the physical and cybersecurity domains with a focus on data privacy and protection. She holds the Physical Security Professional (PSP) and Data Privacy Protection Specialist (DPPS) certifications and SIA’s Security Industry Cybersecurity Certification (SICC), as well as a M.S. in cybersecurity policy and risk analysis, a B.S. in managing security systems and an A.S. in criminal justice. King has published and presented on various security topics in several capacities, including articles, white papers, keynotes, webinars, panel discussions and corporate talks.

King is an active member of SIA who serves as the vice chair of SIA’s Cybersecurity Advisory Board, a board-appointed group of industry cybersecurity experts who guides SIA members ahead of potential cybersecurity issues related to electronic physical security measures. She has been a contributor to the SIA SICC program, SIA’s student outreach and key SIA RISE community offerings and has served as a SIAcademy LIVE! course instructor and presented at ISC East. King is a member of SIA’s Data Privacy Advisory Board, which provides information and best practices to help SIA members handle sensitive data in a safe and secure manner to protect the personally identifiable information of their employees, partners and customers from potential breaches, and through her role with the advisory board she has presented during SIA webinars, helped develop papers and spoken at ISC West on privacy topics. She also serves on SIA’s Ethics Working Group.

“I am humbled and honored to have been chosen for the 2022 SIA Chair’s Award, and I want to thank Pierre Trapanese for selecting me,” King said. “I often refer to SIA as the industry association known for ‘doing.’ I am grateful to be a part of an organization that focuses on the education and advancement of the security industry and its professionals. Having an opportunity to contribute to the Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Advisory Boards, as well as working with the SIA student outreach group, is a great privilege that I do not take lightly. I look forward to continuing the work we do in support of the mission of SIA as the catalyst of growth within the global security industry.”

In addition to her work with SIA, King’s participation in security industry associations includes serving as ASIS International’s assistant regional vice president of Region 5D, a member of ASIS’ Women in Security (WIS) Global Council and co-chair of the WIS Publications Committee. She is also affiliated with industry associations Women in Cybersecurity and InfraGard.

“Antoinette King is a true leader in the security industry whose dedicated efforts and service to SIA have been invaluable,” said Pierre Trapanese, chair of the SIA Board of Directors. “Antoinette’s active involvement in SIA’s cybersecurity and data privacy initiatives, her work to engage young professionals and students in security careers and her prolific thought leadership and educational contributions have strengthened the security industry and are driving SIA’s mission forward. We are proud to honor her with the 2022 SIA Chair’s Award.”
