Guardian Alarm, a Midwest residential and commercial fire, security, and automation systems provider headquartered in Southfield, Mich., has announced its acquisition of Executive Security Consultants, Columbus, Ohio. This will be Guardian Alarm’s second acquisition in the Ohio market in 2022.

Established in 1988 by Doug and Sandy Huey, Executive Security Consultants (ESC) provides residential and commercial alarm services in the greater Columbus area. The company focused on providing peace of mind to their customers. This acquisition continues this legacy, as both companies’ stated objectives are to provide exemplary, personalized customer service and to maintain a family-like culture that exists within their teams.

“Guardian Alarm has a great reputation in security monitoring services,” said Doug and Sandy Huey. “Since we started Executive Security Consultants, our goal has always been to deliver the best technology and reliable services to our customers. Guardian Alarm has demonstrated they share this vision and will continue this legacy under their ownership.”

Brent Uhl, president and chief executive officer of Guardian Alarm, said, “Guardian Alarm has been serving the Columbus market for many years and we look forward to welcoming the employees and customers of Executive Security Consultants. Executive Security Consultants has delivered reliable customer service in the Columbus metro area for more than 30 years. With this merger, we will be able to expand their services to include fire and alarm services to area businesses and municipalities.”

Guardian Alarm, founded in 1930, says it is the Midwest’s largest alarm company. It is ranked No. 13 on the SDM 100.

“This acquisition in the Columbus market will provide Guardian Alarm with a strong market presence and will allow us to serve more customers in this growing area. As we continue our aggressive growth strategy to increase subscribers and revenue, our existing and future customers will benefit from the expanded services and technology,” Uhl said.
