ADT is introducing the ADT+ app during CES 2023, held Jan. 5-8 in Las Vegas.

Billed as a fully integrated product ecosystem, ADT+ will allow users to easily access and control their ADT devices, including a base, keypad, motion sensors, door and window sensors, smart bulbs, smart locks and smoke/carbon monoxide detectors. The system is also compatible with Google Nest Cams, Doorbell and thermostats, through an intuitive app experience, according to an announcement.

The new ADT+ app allows for self-setup for DIY customers and seamlessly integrates multiple smart devices with professional monitoring and proactive mobile alert capabilities. Along with the new app, there will be a new line of ADT home security products to be released later this year, according to the announcement.

“This is a pivotal moment for ADT. Through this new ecosystem, we’re providing greater peace of mind for our consumers wherever they are,” said ADT CTO Raya Sevilla. “Consumer expectations and definitions of safety have evolved to include connection, proactive prevention, mobile, vehicle and energy. So we engineered the new ADT+ app with them in mind — leveraging extensive customer research to intimately understand their needs and expectations from a new home-automation system.”

The new system resulted from thousands of hours of research and insights from ADT’s residential and small business customers, according to the company. ADT+ represents the company’s next-generation smart home security system, providing modernized convenience that consumers desire by unifying security, life safety, smart home and analytics in one application, according to the company.

The system is also said to be future-proofed to adapt in tandem with the evolving security and smart home needs of today’s consumers.

The app unveiling follows an announcement in 2020 when ADT and Google said they had entered into a long-term partnership to create the next generation of smart home security offerings.

The ADT+ app will launch first to ADT’s self-setup customers in February. They will be able to activate the products and set up compatible Google Nest Cams within minutes. Users can download the app and follow the on-screen instructions to activate their base and sensors, as well as add Google Nest devices.

The new app will be introduced for professional installation customers later in 2023, according to the announcement.
