The course is approximately 21 hours of content with a three-hour exam. The textbook is described as very detailed and serves as an excellent companion to the online course. The textbook can also be used alone to prepare for the certification exam. 

The introduction of the course comes at a crucial time for the security industry, which is currently facing a shortage of qualified technicians.
