AlarMax Names Barbara Perkes as Sales Manager – Strategic Accounts

AlarMax Distributors Inc. announced the appointment of Barbara Ann Perkes as sales manager – strategic accounts.

With over a decade of expertise in low voltage and autonomous security technologies, AlarMax said Perkes brings a powerful mix of business insight, customer-first thinking, and transformational leadership to its team.

According to the announcement, Perkes has built her career on driving better business outcomes through collaboration, creativity, and a roll-up-your-sleeves mindset. Her track record spans entrepreneurial ventures, corporate leadership roles, and strategic growth consulting across a variety of industries.

“Barbara brings the kind of energy and clarity that high-level strategic sales demand,” said Scott Shelander, president, AlarMax. “She’s not only experienced — she’s innovative, focused, and committed to building strong, long-term customer relationships. We’re excited to welcome her to the team.”

Ken Lawrence, vice president of strategic accounts, AlarMax, will directly oversee Perkes in her new role. “Barbara has that rare combination of vision and execution,” Lawrence said. “She knows how to turn opportunity into action and understands the value of relationships in every deal. I’m thrilled to have her join our group and help elevate what we deliver to our strategic partners.”

Perkes, an All-American and Hall of Fame athlete, credits her early experiences in sports with shaping her approach to business. “Growing up with three older brothers who never went easy on me gave me grit,” she said. “And playing sports at a high level taught me how to lead, how to listen, and how to lift a team.”

She holds a B.S. in Business Management from Eastern Illinois University and has completed MBA-level coursework in Advanced Digital Strategies at Northwestern University. Outside of work, Barbara is an avid movie goer and sports fan — two lifelong passions that reflect her love for storytelling and competition. At AlarMax, Perkes will focus on expanding national strategic partnerships and deepening relationships with high-growth accounts.
