Speco Technologies appointed Jack Plunkett as director of innovation, effective June 1, 2026.

Plunkett joins Speco Technologies with decades of experience spanning IoT technologies, connected devices, analytics, sensors and intelligent technology ecosystems. In his new role, Plunkett will help guide the next generation of innovation across Speco’s expanding portfolio of security and connected technology solutions.

Prior to joining Speco, Plunkett built an accomplished career focused on innovation and emerging technologies, most recently with Motorola Solutions. Throughout his career, he has earned multiple patents and helped develop technologies deployed across schools, commercial environments and enterprise applications around the world.

Plunkett is also recognized as an inventor behind one of the industry’s earliest vape detection technologies, now utilized by school districts and organizations globally to improve awareness, safety and environmental monitoring.

As director of innovation, Plunkett will focus on advancing Speco’s technology roadmap across connected devices, analytics, cloud technologies, sensors and future-focused security solutions.
