Cherney brings more than two decades of security industry leadership and channel development experience focused on protecting critical infrastructure, energy operations, people and assets. In his new role, he will support the continued expansion of Minuteman’s critical infrastructure sector, helping organizations strengthen security operations, improve operational resilience and stay ahead of the increasingly complex demands facing today’s critical infrastructure environments.
Prior to joining Minuteman, Cherney served as business development manager – energy at Motorola Solutions, where he focused on helping energy-sector organizations strengthen their physical, cybersecurity and operational security initiatives. He also held leadership positions with Prosegur and Rekor Systems, specializing in channel partnerships, surveillance technologies and advanced LPR solutions.
“Doug understands the evolving challenges facing critical infrastructure organizations and the level of operational coordination required to secure them effectively,” said Jack Johnson, chief revenue officer, Minuteman. “His experience across the energy and security sectors, combined with his practical, customer-first approach, makes him an outstanding addition to our team. As organizations continue to modernize their environments, Doug’s leadership will help strengthen the strategic guidance and expertise we bring to our customers.”
Cherney’s experience spans physical security, video surveillance, AI, operational security, channel development and critical infrastructure protection. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with organizations seeking to modernize and unify security operations while improving visibility, response and operational continuity.
“Critical infrastructure environments require more than standalone security systems; they require strategy and operational understanding,” Joseph said. “Doug brings credibility, industry knowledge and a strong understanding of how to help organizations solve real operational challenges. He’s a significant addition, building upon the years of success we’ve had working with critical infrastructure organizations over the last decade.”
Cherney said, “I’m excited to join Minuteman at a time of such strong momentum and growth. The company has built an outstanding reputation for expertise, customer relationships and operational excellence across complex environments. I look forward to adding to that momentum, helping expand Minuteman’s presence within the critical infrastructure sector, and supporting organizations as they navigate evolving security, safety and operational challenges.”
