Honeywell, Syosset, N.Y., announced its involvement with ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” to help provide a dream home for the Nick family of Alma, Ark.

Ten years ago, six-year-old Morgan Nick vanished while catching fireflies at a ballpark. Her mother, Colleen Nick, has continued to search for her eldest daughter, and through her efforts, more than 100 abducted children have been returned to their families. The Nick family’s home was in need of some major improvements because they have focused all of their time and efforts on the Morgan Nick Foundation, which works with police to provide education to parents designed to prevent abduction.

For the Nick family’s new dream home, Honeywell provided security systems including the Optiflex video surveillance system, a Vista control panel, an Aurora PIR motion detector, smoke detectors and structured cabling from the Genesis series, which allows the family’s electronics and appliances to be connected for total home networking.

ABC-TV’s show, “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” features a race to rebuild an entire house in seven days. For more information about the Honeywell products used in the Nick family’s new home, visit www.security.honeywell.com or call (800) 467-5875.
