Axis Communications introduces the AXIS 2411 Video Server, an entry-level video server that provides high-quality, Motion-JPEG video streams for security and surveillance applications. Its small size and low price point make the AXIS 2411 suitable for upgrading analog closed-circuit television video feeds to Internet Protocol (IP)-based systems for mid- to large-size security installations. The AXIS 2411’s main feature is the streaming of full-motion video over the computer network, which provides a very competitive cost-per-channel solution. This streaming feature makes it ideal for many installations in the government, transportation, finance, education, retail and industrial sectors. In addition, the AXIS 2411’s small size allows it to fit inside of outdoor camera housings, along with the analog camera. In many cases, this reduces costs associated with coaxial cabling installations.
