Viscount received orders in June for its new flagship product, the Tough Touch version of its MESH system, to be installed at security gates in Las Vegas. The orders also will include MESH pedestals and access control. The higher level of reliability compared to the standard NFI screens makes the product attractive for vandal-prone commercial buildings, and intentionally targets industrial and governmental complexes, president and CEO Stephan Pineau said. Tough Touch screens are UL 1950 listed for vandal and impact resistance and are designed for unsupervised areas and gates.

Pineau said that the interest in Tough Touch screens “continues to exceed expectations.” He also pointed to the product’s flexibility and Viscount’s ability to continually develop new modules to meet specific architectural needs.

The company also announced that the MESH system is being shipped to environmental testing sites in Europe for the first time. The system will control doors, elevators and multi-language visitor access to the facility.

Pineau also said his company intends to be “much more aggressive internationally.”
