NFPA World Safety Conference & Exposition, June 4–8, Orlando

The 2006 World Safety Conference & Exposition (WSC&E) of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) will begin on June 4 at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Fla.

More than 5,000 attendees will hear keynote speakers George Ockuly, NFPA chairman, and James Shannon, president of the international association dedicated to promoting life safety and protecting the public from fire and other hazards.

The 2006 WSC&E will feature an educational conference, two days of pre-conference seminars, and a three-day product exposition. Experts, including engineers, architects and municipal officials, will lead more than 130 educational sessions.

In addition, pre-conference seminars, available for an additional registration fee, will feature industry experts providing information and insights about timely topics and issues including, The National Preparedness Standard on Developing Disaster/Emergency Management and Business Continuity Programs; Fire Protection Systems Plan Review; Fire and Explosion Investigations; and Security Vulnerability Assessment.

The featured presentation will be R. David Paulison, acting director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), on June 5.

NFPA members will have an opportunity to vote on proposed new safety and building codes on such issues as standards for the installation of sprinkler systems and alternative approaches to life safety.

More than 250 exhibitors will showcase the latest products, ranging from sprinkler systems and services, extinguishing equipment and chemical agents such as foam, to fire pump controls, fire alarms and control panels.

2006 CSAA Electronic Security Forum and Expo-sition and SDM 100 Gala

The 2006 Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) Security Forum and Exposition will be held May 17-21, 2006, in Savannah, Ga. The forum and expo, to be held at the Hyatt Regency Savannah, will feature committee meetings, educational seminars and an exposition.
