After 28 years at electronic security services provider ADT Security Services Inc., Boca Raton, Fla., Michael Snyder left the company to take a position at broadband phone company Vonage, Holmdel, N.J. No replacement was named at the time of publication.

Synder, who had been president of ADT, a part of Tyco Fire and Security, since 1997, was named chief executive officer of Vonage Holdings Corp., on Feb. 8.

“Over the past four months, I have actively recruited Mike to take over the chief executive officer role within Vonage’s management team to run Vonage’s day-to-day operations,” stated Jeffrey A. Citron, Vonage’s chairman and chief strategist. “The board and I are very excited to welcome Mike to the Vonage team and we are very happy to make him part of our vision.”

“Mike has made significant contributions to the company and to Tyco Fire and Security,” said a statement from Ann Lindstrom, ADT director of corporate communications. “He leaves with ADT’s best wishes for continued success.”

Snyder’s departure from ADT comes after the appointment of John Koch as chief operating officer for ADT North American in mid-January. Koch is responsible for overseeing all business operations.

Also prior to Synder’s departure was Tyco International Ltd.’s annoucement that it plans to separate into three companies to be completed during the first quarter of 2007. Among the three companies will be Tyco Fire and Security/ Engineered Products and Services which will be led by Ed Breen, Tyco International’s chairman and CEO.

According to Tyco, the company hopes to continue growth in 2006, after past “flat organic growth” in both its Fire and Security, and Healthcare businesses.
