Greg Stone, product marketing manager of video products for GE Security, Bradenton, Fla., demonstrates inSDM’s offices the new GE SymSafe hybrid DVR, which with the SymSafe Pro hybrid completes the upgrade of GE’s DVR portfolio. Suitable not only for small systems, the DVRs also can be used in installations that are upgraded later. They can deliver real-time video recording at 480 or 600 fps hybrid at up to 2-CIF resolution. At D1 resolution, the SymSafe family offers up to 240 fps. The DVRs join the SymDec 16 plus 4 DVR to offer a choice of four-, eight- or 16-channel configurations.

Why We Like It:The new SymSafe products can be used standalone or networked and their two IP channels can transition between analog and digital systems. They feature a light bar on the front that indicates an alarm, a back-up hard drive and a cooling-tunnel design to extend hard drive life.
