Raytheon’s audio control unit technology was designated as a “Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology” under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies, or SAFETY, Act. Raytheon’s ACU technology provides public safety agencies a means to interconnect existing radio equipment with other radio systems operating on different frequencies. The company’s ACU-1000, ACU-M, ACU-T and TRP-1000 products were included in the designation and placed onto the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s approved product list.

“The SAFETY Act provides us with important legal liability protections as a supplier of a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology,” said William Iannacci, director, Raytheon Network Centric Systems’ Civil Communications Solutions.
