It was history in the making as nearly 50 of the SDM 100 dealers stood to be recognized by SDM at the fourth annual SDM 100 Gala.

It was a moment not easily forgotten, a moment that was understood as history in the making, as nearly 50 of the 100 largest security dealers joined SDM’s editor Laura Stepanek, on stage at the fourth annual SDM 100 Gala – and the photographer snapped an unforgettable photo.

The Gala was held this year on June 25, at the Hilton Baltimore in Baltimore, Md., in conjunction with Electronic Security Expo. More than 220 people attended the celebratory evening event in honor of the achievements made by the 100 largest security dealers operating in the United States. In attendance were executives or representatives from firms such as ADT, Brink’s Home Security, Protection One, Monitronics Int’l, Stanley Convergent Security Solutions, APX Alarm, Vector Security, Guardian Protection, Bay Alarm Co., and many more, along with their spouses or other company staff.

Sponsors of the SDM 100 Gala made this event possible (see list of sponsors on this page). The evening began with an hour-long cocktail reception and mixer, where the 200-plus guests greeted their friends and acquaintances. Dinner was preceded by welcoming remarks from SDM publisher, Mark McCourt. Then SDM’s associate editor, Heather Klotz, presented the 2008 Dealer of the Year trophy to Joe Nuccio, president of ASG Security, a company ranked as No. 11 on the SDM 100.

A delicious dinner was followed by a comedy hypnosis show, “Magic for the Mind,” by Jason Linett. The nine-piece band, Amaretto, entertained guests throughout the rest of the evening, while many people danced and chatted with old friends.

The SDM 100 is an extremely influential group, accounting for $8 billion in total revenue and 12 million subscribers. Read the full report at: http://www.sdmmag.com/CDA/Articles/sdm100/BNP_GUID_9-5-2006_A_10000000000000588152
