It is environmental responsibility. It is good business. It sparks passion from employees. It garners respect. It meets growing regulations. Unfortunately, many of the positive “green” actions by the physical security industry have previously been invisible. Every day, the SDM editors take on the challenge to cover what the industry is doing, and we don’t want to miss out on something as vital as the environment. SDM wants to bring the industry’s “green” efforts to light, so this month we’re introducing the inaugural “green” April issue focused on everything the security industry is doing to rethink projects, products and processes to better respect the environment and the future of the planet.

Of course, we really couldn’t fit everything the security industry is doing into one issue of SDM, so today SDM is also launching a dedicated "green" website in advance of the special April print edition to help highlight "green" efforts from around the industry from now through Earth Day on April 22, 2012.

Check out www.sdmmag.com/green for an extended look at sustainability and environmentally-conscious trends in the security industry!

You’ll also find news, case studies, awards, products, photo galleries, and resources to help with your own “green” actions.

Also, it’s not too late to share your company’s green efforts and be featured on this special “green” website! E-mail klotz-youngh@bnpmedia.com or call Heather Klotz-Young at 630-962-0096 to share “green” corporate initiatives or environmental programs. We’re gathering material throughout the month of April.
