ASIS International selected its 2012 Accolades Award winners and will recognize them at ASIS 2012, September 10-13 in Philadelphia.

The ASIS Accolades awards competition recognizes the security industry’s most innovative new products, services and/or solutions. A team of judges, drawn from end users and security technologies experts, evaluated more than 40 entries to select the top 10.

“This year’s entries presented a unique challenge to the judges,” said Ron Lander, CPP, ASIS Accolades co-chair. “Continued advances in communications and database management yielded a field of products whose cross platform application and integration with existing products and services showed through. The judges were collectively excited and fascinated by the direction security product and service advances are taking.”

Many of the entries and winners were indicative of the changing face of the security industry itself, said Howard Belfor, CPP, the other ASIS Accolades co-chair.

“The continued growth in database management and the rapid transformation in computing power are maturing products that previously were single dimensional. It would seem that the convergence we are now witnessing is one of shared databases and interoperability on many fronts,” he said.

All 40-plus entrants have been invited to display their entries in the Accolades Showcase located in the Grand Hall at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Winners will be highlighted, along with other new products during ASIS 2012’s “What’s New on the Floor” session, to be held in from 1:45 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Room 114 on Tuesday, September 11.
