Surge Protection Devices for Critical Surveillance Applications

February 11, 2013

surge protection devices, the Edco CP-24 and Edco HVCP-48-BNCEmerson Network Power, a business of Emerson, introduced two surge protection devices, the Edco CP-24 and Edco HVCP-48-BNC, specifically designed to provide greater assurance and safety for critical surveillance system components. The Edco CP-24 surge suppressor safeguards the DC power input to security cameras, and features quick-snap installation for power applications up to 24 VDC. The Edco CP-24 requires no additional wiring and can be plugged in directly or in series at a camera’s power terminal. High-speed silicon avalanche diode (SAD) technology clamps high-energy transients that can damage CCTV equipment. The Edco CCTV-1 can be added to protect the camera’s BNC video input. Also introduced was the Edco HVCP-48-BNC combination unit, a hybrid surge protection product offering a three-part solution to safeguard data, video input and DC power.
