ASIS International selected its 2013 ASIS Accolades Award winners. The awards competition recognizes the security industry’s most innovative new products, services, and/or solutions. The 10 winners were recognized at the ASIS International 59th Annual Seminar and Exhibits (ASIS 2013), held in late September in Chicago. A team of judges representing end users and experts in security technologies evaluated all of the entries and selected the top 10 winners.

“This year’s entries again display the unique innovation, creativity, and functionality of the products and services on the market today,” observed Accolades Co-Chair Ron Lander, CPP.

The 2013 ASIS Accolades Competition: Security’s Best award winners are:

  • Axis Communications: AXIS P12 Network Camera Series

The miniature AXIS p12 Series Network Camera provides HDTV 720p video in H.264 or motion JPEG. Features include motion detection, active tampering alarm, Power over Ethernet support, and edge storage for a self-contained covert surveillance solution.

  • DAQ Electronics, LLC: EntroWatch

EntroWatch is the world’s first access control system offering PoE/PoE+ and native BACnet technology. An open protocol approach allows for direct communication with ANSI/ASHRAE 135-2010 compliant systems and enables integration of access control, security and building management systems.

  • FST21 Ltd.: Digital Doorman

Digital Doorman™ simplifies installation at any electronic locked door in a home or office within 90 minutes. Enrollment takes 30 seconds and the system learns the rest automatically. Visitors enter using the QR code, keypad, or call from a phone.

  • HID Global

HID Global has won an ASIS Accolades award for its latest addition to its iCLASS SE platform, the iCLASS SE Encoder. The new solution was unveiled at ASIS.

  • Medeco Security Locks, an ASSA ABLOY Group Company: Medeco M100 iClassAperio eCylinder

M100 eCylinder with Aperio™ technology offers an easy retrofit solution for mechanical door hardware, adding access control to any door in the time it takes to switch out a cylinder. Local wireless communication between the M100 and an Aperio hub connects to the existing EAC system.

  • Samsung Techwin America:  Samsung Network Spider Cam

Samsung’s Network Spider Cam captures full HD images in complete and total darkness up to 328 feet. This network PTZ dome comes with a 20x optical zoom and focused IR illumination, which focuses objects at a distance as the camera zooms. Includes a IK10 vandal-resistant rating.

  • Sargent Manufacturing Company, an ASSA ABLOY Group  Company: IN120 WiFi Lock

Corbin Russwin and Sargent Manufacturing Company, ASSA ABLOY Group Companies, have won an ASIS Accolades award for the IN120. The IN120 will be unveiled in the ASSA ABLOY Booth at ASIS.

  •  Securitron Magnalock Corp, an ASSA ABLOY Group Company: Securitron R100 Surface Mounted Wireless Reader

The Securitron R100 Surface Mounted Wireless Reader offers an aesthetically appealing way to extend access control to glass entryways. The R100 uses wireless communication between the reader and an Aperio® hub to connect to the access control system. Installation no longer requires pulling and hiding wire at the door or pedestal.
